KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: Kuwait Municipality inspectors issued 37 violations during an inspection campaign in Hawally Governorate targeting shops and commercial establishments for breaching advertising and pricing regulations.

The Municipality's Public Relations Department said the Audit and Follow-up Department for Municipal Services at the Hawally Municipality branch carried out field inspections to ensure markets and businesses were complying with municipal rules and licensing requirements.

Director of the department Mohammad Al-Subaie said inspection teams visited 60 commercial establishments, resulting in 37 violations.

The violations included failure to renew licenses, failure to maintain advertising signs, displaying promotional advertisements without a license, and adding advertising boards without obtaining the required municipal approval.

Al-Subaie urged business owners and shop operators to ensure all commercial and advertising licenses remain valid to avoid legal action.

He also reminded businesses that Kuwait's new advertising regulations impose stricter penalties and higher fines on violators, stressing that the measures are intended to curb violations, improve compliance and protect the public interest.
