KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: The Hawally Governorate Council on Monday launched a security awareness campaign titled “Hawally is Safe” at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center Theater, under the patronage of the Governor of Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Acting Governor of Hawally, Sheikh Sabah Bader Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

In his opening speech, Sheikh Sabah Bader Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah described the campaign as a pioneering initiative to enhance community security and raise awareness of the importance of adhering to laws, regulations, and values that preserve national stability. He emphasized that the campaign is not merely a media effort but a comprehensive national initiative focusing on prevention before treatment and awareness before crimes occur.

Sheikh Sabah highlighted that individual behavior plays a key role in fostering respect for the law. He stressed the importance of spreading security awareness, noting that crime has evolved beyond traditional forms to include cybercrimes, financial extortion via social media, and other sophisticated threats. He underlined that security is a shared societal responsibility and that an informed society is a true partner of security institutions. “The higher the level of awareness among the people, the lower the crime rates and the greater the trust and sense of security,” he said.

The campaign aims to provide comprehensive security awareness to residents of Hawally Governorate. A panel discussion at the event addressed traffic safety, legal aspects, and cybersecurity, highlighting risks, consequences, and preventive measures.

Sheikh Sabah expressed gratitude to all those involved in organizing and contributing to the campaign.
