LOS ANGELES, Aug 13: Halle Berry has spoken out about her recent departure from the highly anticipated legal drama All’s Fair. The Oscar-winning actress was originally set to star alongside Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close in the Ryan Murphy-produced series, but she exited the project just a week after her casting was announced due to a scheduling conflict, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

At the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film, The Union, on August 12, Berry addressed her departure, stating, “You know, things happen for a reason.” She added, “I would have loved to have been there with those ladies, and I know it’s gonna be great.” Despite her exit, Berry expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting, “[It’s] Ryan Murphy! I mean, you know, duh, but next time.”

Berry, Kardashian, and Close were initially announced as the stars and executive producers of the Hulu drama All’s Fair in July. The series is set to focus on an all-woman law firm in Los Angeles, with Kardashian playing a leading role as a top divorce lawyer. Following Berry’s departure, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, Naomi Watts, and Teyana Taylor have been added to the cast, with Nash and Watts also serving as executive producers.

Kardashian, who previously appeared on the latest season of FX’s American Horror Story, is also preparing for her upcoming Netflix project. She is set to star in and executive produce an original film for the streaming service, titled The Fifth Wheel. The film will feature Kardashian alongside producer and writer Paula Pell and writer Janine Brito. The announcement was made via X in November 2023.

Additionally, Kardashian is working on another series, Calabasas, with American Horror Story: Delicate co-star Emma Roberts. The series, which Kardashian and Roberts will executive produce, is being developed with Marlene King, known for her work on Pretty Little Liars. Roberts described the show as aiming to blend elements of The O.C. and Pretty Little Liars, reflecting their desire to create a captivating new drama.
