‘Decision to merge to badly hit work situation’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: Nearly 50 percent of the employees in Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) are against the merging of MGRP and Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), reports Al-Nahar daily quoting informed sources from MGRP.

They explained that approximately 100 employees of both MGRP and PAM have submitted their resignations as soon as the announcement about the decision to merge was made. This is because the decision will badly affect their work situation and hinder their chances for a promotion.

Meanwhile, the sources revealed that the data in the files of about 3,000 Kuwaiti employees of the private sector have been reviewed, indicating that these files belong to employees who had applied during the period when retroactive payment of national labor subsidy was suspended. They affirmed that the pending labor subsidies of these employees will be deposited in their bank accounts before the end of this year.
