Half-Lorry Theft Solved As Suspect Caught Attempting To Sell Parts

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 11: Investigators from Al-Ardiya Police Station have successfully solved a half-lorry theft case by arresting a young man with a prior criminal record and a significant history of drug abuse. The suspect confessed that he intended to sell the half-lorry as scrap or spare parts to fund his narcotics purchases.

According to a security source, an expatriate reported to the Ministry of Interior operations that he had left the half-lorry running while unloading goods at a warehouse in the Al-Ardiya area. He was shocked when an individual climbed into the vehicle and drove away before the unloading was completed.

The source added, “Detectives quickly launched an investigation and tracked the stolen half-lorry to the Ishbiliya area. Officers intercepted the vehicle and apprehended the suspect, who resisted violently before being arrested.” Further investigations will be conducted to explore the suspect’s possible involvement in other vehicle thefts linked to unidentified individuals.

In a separate case, the Farwaniya Investigations Department, through the Al-Ardiya Police Station Investigations Office, resolved a vehicle theft during maintenance by arresting a citizen. The vehicle owner had reported to the Interior Ministry Operations that an unknown person had stolen his car while it was undergoing maintenance in the Al-Ardiya Industrial Area.

Providing the vehicle description and license plate number, the owner enabled detectives to locate the car in the Sabah Al-Salem area, where they arrested the suspect and recovered the stolen vehicle. The accused confessed to the theft and was referred to the Public Prosecution.
