Habshan Gas Site Fires in UAE Leave One Egyptian Dead, Two Pakistanis and Two Egyptians Injured

ABU DHABI, April 3: Authorities in Abu Dhabi said emergency response teams have brought under control fires that broke out at the Habshan gas facilities following the fall of debris from a successful air defense interception.

In a follow-up statement on the incident, officials confirmed that two fires were ignited at the site. Emergency crews responded immediately and managed to contain the situation “with high efficiency,” bringing the incident under control.

The authorities said the incident resulted in the death of one Egyptian national during the evacuation process. Four others sustained minor injuries, including two Pakistanis and two Egyptians. All injured individuals received medical care, and their conditions were reported as stable.

Officials also confirmed that significant damage occurred at parts of the facility, adding that technical assessment and inspection operations are still underway to determine the extent of the impact and support restoration efforts.

The statement urged the public to rely only on official sources for information and warned against the spread of rumours or unverified reports, emphasizing that investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
