DOHA, Aug 1: The Gulf Football Federation has announced the postponement of the Gulf Super Cup 2026 match between Iraq’s Duhok and Qatar’s Al Rayyan due to the current regional circumstances.
The fixture was originally scheduled for August 13, 2026, but has been delayed until a new date is confirmed.
In a statement, the federation said the match will still be held in Duhok Governorate, Iraq, as initially planned, with the rescheduled date and hosting arrangements to be revealed later in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The Gulf Super Cup, a newly launched regional competition, is part of efforts to enhance Gulf football competitions and strengthen their presence on the regional sporting calendar. The tournament is expected to generate significant interest among fans and media across the Gulf.
