AMMAN, Dec 1: Three matches are scheduled today in the third round of the Arab Men’s Challenge Cup, being hosted in Amman, Jordan, until December 5. The day’s centerpiece is the Gulf derby between Kuwait and Bahrain, set for 7:00 PM at Princess Sumaya Hall. Earlier, Palestine will face Tunisia at 3:00 PM, followed by Jordan against Egypt at 5:00 PM.
Kuwait entered today’s round after losing its first two matches, 0–3 to Tunisia and 2–3 to Jordan. Teams will have a rest day tomorrow, with the fifth round on Thursday and the final round on Friday, where Kuwait will face Egypt.
The tournament is conducted in a single round-robin format, with the team earning the highest points crowned as champion of the Arab Challenge Cup.
Kuwait’s delegation is led by Jassem Al-Failakawi, board member of the Volleyball Federation, and includes team manager Mohammad Al-Balushi, Argentine head coach Julian Alvarez, assistants—Kuwaiti Zaid Al-Kadhimi and Argentine Lux—and 14 players.
