KUWAIT CITY, March 14: Following the return to 100 percent work in all government institutions based on a circular issued by the Civil Service Commission according to which all exemptions have been discontinued from Sunday, the General Traffic Department was fully prepared to keep pace with the situation as a number of foot patrols were distributed in vital areas to facilitate traffic movement, especially in front of schools, government institutions and at major intersections, reports Al-Rai daily.

Lieutenant-Colonel Abdullah Bahman working for Traffic Awareness in the Public Relations Department of the ministry confirmed, “the traffic police’s readiness to keep pace with the full return of employees starting today (Sunday),” pointing out that “there is a high traffic density due to the simultaneous return of employees to their workplaces and students going to school at the same time” and said the traffic police helped things run smoothly. He explained the number of traffic accidents was normal and this was due to the preparations made by securitymen that contributed to controlling traffic on roads and streets. Bahman indicated most traffic jams were witnessed on the Fourth Ring Road and the Fifth Ring Road due to the repairs that are being carried out especially at noon.
