KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: The Ministry of Interior arrested a seven people on charges of buying votes and referred them to investigation to take the necessary legal measures against them. Total amount seized was KD 20,000 and a voters list. The MOI stated that the criminal security sector after search and investigation operations was able to identify a house which was run for vote-buying operations which is in violation of the law.
After verifying the accuracy of the information, permission was obtained from the Public Prosecution and the house was raided. Those responsible for managing the purchase were seized with sums of money prepared for delivery.
The Ministry of the Interior has warned anyone who tempts himself to distort the electoral process will face legal consequences (KUNA)
