KUWAIT CITY, July 8: The National Assembly will hold its ordinary session on Tuesday to discuss the following:
■ Approval of minutes number 1495 for the inaugural session held on June 20;
■ Resignation of State Audit Bureau (SAB) Chairman Faisal Al-Shaya;
■ Amiri speech delivered by HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the inaugural session and referring it to the concerned parliamentary committee to prepare the response to the speech;
■ Incoming letters;
■ Complaints and petitions;
■ Proposal to allocate part of the upcoming session to discuss the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden and take a decision on the step in this regard;
■ Proposal to allocate part of the upcoming session to discuss measures taken by the government regarding the increasing prices of some commodities;
■ Proposal to allocate part of the upcoming session to discuss the position of the government on the strategic alternative to the salary scale;
■ Proposal to look into the criteria and measures taken by the government to fill up vacant senior positions;
■ Proposal to form a temporary committee to follow up the problems of those residing in southern areas including Sabah Al-Ahmad, Wafra and Khairan residential areas;
■ Proposal to form a temporary committee for cybercrimes and artificial intelligence (AI);
■ Report of the Health, Social and Labor Affairs Committee on the bill to replace the word ‘servant’ with ‘domestic labor’ wherever it is mentioned in the relevant laws;
■ Report of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on the Exports Bill;
■ Report of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on the Government Sukuk Bill;
■ Reports of the Foreign Affairs Committee on the cooperation between Kuwait and other countries like Turkey, Ukraine and Morocco.

Meanwhile, MP Marzouq Al-Ghanim has submitted a proposal to increase the allowance for higher education students up to KD300 per month. He suggested that the allowance for excellent students should be increased to KD 350 for those under class B, KD400 for class A1 and KD450 for class A. MPs Shuaib Al-Muwaizri, Shuaib Shaaban, Abdullah Fehad, Osama Al-Zaid and Soud Al-Asfour have proposed obligating banks to refund the interest illegally collected from clients since 1992. MPs Shuaib Al-Muwaizri, Shuaib Shaaban, Abdullah Fehad, Hamad Al-Medlej and Soud Al-Asfour have submitted a bill to amend Civil Service Law number 15/1979 on granting equal salaries to employees with the same job scale in different institutions; in addition to specifying the minimum salary at KD1,000.
