KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22: The Special Security and Correctional Institutions Sector held a graduation ceremony for the first cohort of released inmates participating in the “Support Them” national initiative, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The ceremony, which honored 86 graduates, was held under the patronage of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, and in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major General Hamed Al-Dawwas, and the Head of the Special Security and Correctional Institutions Sector Brigadier General Dakheel Al-Dakheel.
Major General Al-Dawwas expressed pride in the national initiative, highlighting that it reflects the ministry’s commitment to programs that support released inmates and facilitate their positive reintegration into society. He praised the collaborative efforts that contributed to the success of the program and the creation of a supportive environment for its beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the acting Director General of the General Department for Correctional Institutions, Brigadier General Osama Al- Majed, affirmed the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to implementing comprehensive rehabilitation programs aimed at enhancing inmates’ skills and empowering released inmates to build stable lives after their release. He highlighted that the “Support Them” initiative serves as a national model showcasing the partnership between state institutions and civil society, and reflecting the ministry’s vision for developing the reform and rehabilitation system in line with international human rights standards.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the patron’s representative honored the graduates, participating teams, and organizations in recognition of their contributions to the initiative’s success. In this regard, the Ministry of Interior stressed that the patronage of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for the ceremony underscores the ministry’s strong commitment to reform and rehabilitation programs, and its dedication to providing meaningful opportunities to empower released individuals and reintegrate them into society.
