KUWAIT CITY, May 20: The country has reduced the prices of 3,786 medicines since March 2015, reports Al-Rai daily quoting Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Basel Al-Sabah who responded to a parliamentary question. According to the minister, the Ministry of Health began studying the price reduction in 2014 as part of the Gulf price unification project. He warned that legal action will be taken against pharmacies proven to have violated the drug pricing decisions as per Article 15 of Law No. 28/1996. He said the penalties include a prison sentence of not more than six months and a fine of KD2,000 or any one of these penalties.
