Government financial servers secure after Ministry of Finance cyberattack

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: On Monday, the Ministry of Finance disclosed that it had experienced a cyberattack against one of its systems in the early hours of the morning. This event prompted the activation of the ministry’s security and protection protocols, leading to the disconnection and isolation of hardware devices.

In an official press statement, the ministry reassured the public that the attempted breach had no impact on salary transfer processes. Additionally, it emphasized that the government’s financial servers remain isolated and that all ministry operations are proceeding without interruption.

The ministry has been in close communication with the National Cybersecurity Center to stay updated on the incident and assess its impact. (KUNA)
