WASHINGTON, Jan 18, (Agencies): The Golden State Warriors are in mourning following the tragic passing of assistant coach Dejan Milojević at the age of 46. The news of his death was announced by the Bay Area NBA team, revealing that Milojević, a key figure in the team’s 2022 NBA championship victory, suffered a fatal heart attack during a private team dinner in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Expressing profound sorrow over the unexpected loss, Warriors coach Steve Kerr issued a statement, saying, “We are absolutely devastated by Dejan’s sudden passing. This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him.”

Dejan Milojević had been in his third season as an assistant coach with the Warriors. Prior to his tenure with the NBA team, he served as the head coach of KK Budućnost in the Adriatic League in Montenegro. Additionally, Milojević held the position of head coach for KK Mega Basket in Belgrade, Serbia, his hometown. His untimely demise has left a void in the Warriors organization and the basketball community at large.
