KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: Kuwait claimed five medals — two golds, two silvers, and one bronze — in the Men’s and Women’s 50 Clay Trap events at the Asian Shooting Championship, being held in Kuwait until November 8 at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex.
The Kuwaiti men’s team dominated the event, sweeping the podium with Abdulrahman Al-Faihan winning gold, Talal Al-Rashidi taking silver, and Khaled Al-Mudhaf earning bronze.
In the women’s category, Sara Al-Huwail captured gold; Shahad Al-Huwail took silver, while Qatari shooter Mitha Hamad Al-Binali secured bronze.
The winners were officially crowned by Luciano Rossi, President of the International Shooting Federation, Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, President of the Asian Shooting Federation, Engineer Daej Khalaf Al-Otaibi, President of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, along with Sheikh Sabah Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, Vice President of the Kuwaiti Shooting Federation, and Obaid Manahi Al-Osaimi, Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, in the presence of several heads of delegations.
The Men’s and Women’s 50 Skeet events will begin today, Wednesday.
Obaid Manahi Al-Osaimi, Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations and Tournament Director, congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the people of Kuwait for the team’s continental success. He praised their unwavering support for shooting sports in Kuwait, which played a vital role in these achievements.
Al-Osaimi also highlighted the excellent organization of the championship, noting the participation of 17 teams and the appointment of Asian referees to ensure fairness and transparency for all competitors.
