KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5; The first-ever Padel World Cup Pairs Championship in Kuwait continued to thrill fans on its third day, hosted at Arena and the Rafa Nadal Academy, featuring elite players from around the world.
The knockout rounds delivered intense matches and top-level performances. World No. 1 Agustín Tapia from Argentina, alongside his Spanish partner Artur Cuello, impressed, while the Spanish duo Pablo Rodrigo and David Gala stunned spectators by defeating Argentine pair Martín de Nino and Leandro Ogsburger in a 2-1 upset.
The round of 16 for both men and women takes place this evening, with the quarterfinals scheduled for Friday and semifinals on Saturday.
Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation, expressed his delight at hosting the championship in Kuwait, praising the excellent organization. He highlighted the tournament’s global significance, noting it awards 2,000 international ranking points to the winner and grants the prestigious title of World Champion for two consecutive years.
