DUBAI, Mar 21: Leaders from the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Denmark, Latvia, Slovenia, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Czechia, Romania, Bahrain, Lithuania, and Australia have jointly condemned what they described as attacks by Iran on unarmed commercial vessels and civilian infrastructure, including oil and gas facilities.

In a joint statement, the countries expressed deep concern over the escalating conflict and criticized what they called the “de facto closure” of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy supplies.

“We call on Iran to immediately cease its threats, the laying of mines, drone and missile attacks, and any attempts to block the Strait to commercial shipping,” the statement said, urging compliance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation and ensuring the stability of international trade routes amid rising regional tensions.
