Global coaches project to develop Kuwait’s young footballers: Abdullah

KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 24: Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports Bashar Abdullah said the authority’s project to recruit international coaches for Under-12 football teams aims to invest in young talent and lay the foundations for a professional generation of players.

Speaking at a press conference to launch the project, Abdullah said 15 international coaches will be assigned to 15 football clubs to work with their Under-12 teams in cooperation with the Kuwait Football Association.

He described the Under-12 age group as a crucial stage in a player’s development and sporting character. Proper training at this age, he said, enables young players to develop more effectively, understand the game faster, and build strong technical and physical foundations for the later stages of their development.

Abdullah said the project is being implemented in cooperation with the Kuwait Football Association, which submitted 150 CVs from coaches from different countries. The applications were reviewed, and interviews were conducted with some candidates according to specific criteria and requirements to identify the most suitable coaches for the project.
