The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center's Space Museum has announced exciting November astronomical events viewable from Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31, (Agencies): The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center's Space Museum has announced that November will witness several exciting astronomical events that can be observed from Kuwait.

The General Supervisor of the Museums at the center, Khalid Al-Jumai'an, informed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that during this month, there will be a notable celestial event where Jupiter will be at its closest point to Earth. This event, known as a close approach, provides an exceptional opportunity to observe the planet's features and details.

Additionally, on the evening of Sunday, November 12, Kuwait's skies will be graced by the "Taurid Meteor Showers." This event will be best observed after midnight in areas with minimal light pollution, with approximately 5 to 10 meteors visible per hour.

Furthermore, on November 13, the best time of the month for observing and photographing the Milky Way's river, along with winter constellations and star clusters, will occur. This is an excellent time for stargazing enthusiasts to capture the beauty of the cosmos.

Al-Jumai'an also pointed out that on November 18, the periodic return of the "Leonid Meteor Shower" will take place. This meteor shower repeats every 33 years and is associated with the comet "Tuttle-Tempel." The last significant outburst of Leonid meteors occurred in 2001, and this year is expected to see 15 meteors per hour during the peak.

Moreover, he mentioned that the Moon will align with Venus on the morning of Thursday, November 9, in the eastern sky, and it will offer a stunning sight as they appear close together. The Moon will continue its journey across the sky, aligning with Mars on the evening of November 20, and then with Saturn on the night of November 25.

The Space Museum actively documents and monitors all astronomical phenomena in Kuwait's skies, collaborating with international astronomical authorities and incorporating them into its educational programs and initiatives. This year promises an array of captivating celestial events for astronomy enthusiasts to enjoy.
