Germany, Kuwait commit to broader bilateral cooperation

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6: Newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kuwait Dr. Dirk Rothenberg confirmed the deep ties between his country and the State of Kuwait. Ambassador Rothenberg made the statement during the German Unity Day celebration hosted by the Embassy of Germany at Al-Raya Hall recently. Present at the event were Minister of Education Eng. Sayed Jalal Al- Tabtabaei, other officials, diplomats, and members of the German community in Kuwait. Rothenberg praised the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, indicating that Germany is keen on developing and strengthening these relations in various sectors. He stated that German-Kuwaiti relations were built on a solid foundation of friendship and mutual respect, expressing his appreciation for Kuwait, its leadership, government and people. He also expressed appreciation for the high-level visits and communications between the two countries. He indicated that the visit of the Kuwaiti foreign affairs minister to Germany and the talks with German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Johann Wadephul in September reflected the depth of bilateral relations, the growing momentum they are witnessing, and the shared desire to continue strengthening cooperation in various fields.

He explained that cooperation between Germany and Kuwait is not limited to the political fields, as it extends to economic and investment sectors like energy, technology, artificial intelligence, security, education and academic cooperation, as well as other areas of mutual interest. He added that Germany looks forward to enhancing cooperation with Kuwait within the framework of regional and international organizations. He underscored the importance of joint action in overcoming the challenges that the world is facing today. He said Germany and Kuwait share a commitment to maintain security, stability and prosperity. He affirmed the significance of international cooperation in light of the mounting economic, security and political challenges that the global community is facing. He reaffirmed his country’s solidarity with the State of Kuwait, its leadership and people, commending the resilience of Kuwait and its ability to triumph over challenges and deal with the unstable security condition in the region.
