KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Kazma has finalized its foreign player recruitment with the signing of German striker Torless Knoll, completing the “Orange” squad’s overseas lineup for the upcoming season.
The 28-year-old forward joins Yemeni midfielder Nasser Mohamoud, Algerian Idriss Shaabi, Brazilian Patrick Robson, and Senegalese Amath Ndao as Kazma’s foreign contingent.
Knoll previously played for Saudi club Al-Tai in the Yelo League, where he made 31 appearances and scored 17 goals. He has also gained experience in Croatia and Germany’s third tier and is expected to join Kazma’s training camp in the coming days.
Kazma is currently holding its preseason camp in Izmit, Turkey, which will run until August 14 and includes four friendly matches as they prepare for the new campaign. The team will also compete in the Gulf Champions League.
Al-Salmiya has strengthened its squad with the signing of Congolese defender Tresor Tshipiobua, making him the club’s fourth foreign player.
Tresor, born in 1998, joins Uzbek Shahzod Azmiydinov, Bahraini Abdullah Yusuf, and Syrian Mahmoud Al-Aswad on the foreign roster.
The defender arrives with prior professional experience, while Al-Salmiya is awaiting the arrival of a Brazilian player to complete its foreign signings.
Coach Ali Ashoor’s side will travel to Turkey tomorrow for a training camp featuring several friendly matches as part of their preparations for the new season.
Al-Arabi recorded its first win in the Turkish camp after defeating Amedspor 4-0.
Palestinian forward Zaid Qanbar scored twice, while new arrivals Talal Al-Qaisi and Brazilian Lucas Chalon added a goal each.
The “Green” side had earlier drawn 1-1 with Van Spor and suffered a 3-1 defeat against Erzurumspor.
Al-Arabi’s camp will continue until early August before the team heads to India to face East Bengal in Kolkata on August 12 in the AFC Champions League Two playoff round. They will then return to Kuwait to prepare for the Zain Premier League season.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Club continued its intensive preparations with morning and evening training sessions during its camp in London.
The defending league champion is preparing for its title defense, with the new Premier League season set to begin on August 25. The club is also gearing up for its AFC Champions League Two campaign.
Elsewhere, Al-Qadsiya’s new Moroccan signing Ayoub Lakhdar has joined the team’s delegation at its training camp in Yalova, Turkey.
