KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: The General Sports Authority has initiated strategic administrative measures to upgrade eight football fields in youth centers. The transformation involves replacing the existing artificial turf system with a natural turf system, adhering to internationally approved specifications for training fields. The comprehensive upgrade includes the renewal and replacement of soil layers, the establishment of a drainage network, installation of an automatic irrigation system, incorporation of pumps, and the addition of an irrigation tank. All refurbished stadiums are meticulously designed to meet the technical standards and specifications set by FIFA, ensuring a high-quality playing surface.

This initiative aligns with the authority's overarching plan to enhance the infrastructure of stadiums, addressing the shortage and significant deficit in football stadiums across clubs. The upgraded fields will serve as venues for training sessions, competitions across different age levels, and friendly matches. The objective is to alleviate the strain on main stadiums within clubs, offering an excellent opportunity for their maintenance and preparation to host official and external matches.

The developmental blueprint also extends to football fields within sports arenas, totaling 12 sports arenas. These fields will be utilized for training sessions for local club age groups, first-team training, and hosting competitions. Additionally, the plan encompasses the establishment of multi-purpose halls catering to various individual sports federations, further emphasizing the authority's commitment to providing top-notch infrastructure for sports practice across all disciplines.
