Gauvin congratulates France on impressive World Cup start

French Ambassador to Kuwait Olivier Gauvin celebrates France’s victory over Senegal.

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: French Ambassador to Kuwait Olivier Gauvin congratulated the French national team on its victory in its opening World Cup match, describing the result as a reflection of the strength, unity and ambition of the team.

Gauvin stated that the French team delivered an impressive performance that fully merited the victory.  He pointed out that the two goals scored by Kylian Mbappé elevated him to the status of the French national team’s all-time leading scorer with 58 international goals.  He added that the goal scored by Bradley Barcola demonstrated the exceptional talent and determination of the players.

He said the match was played in an excellent sporting atmosphere, bringing together French and Kuwaiti supporters in a shared celebration of their love for football.  He expressed his happiness over experiencing these moments alongside fans and followers of the game.

He also praised the Senegal national football team, indicating that it had a strong performance and displayed a high degree of skill and competitiveness throughout the match.

He emphasized that this victory is just the beginning of the French team’s journey in the tournament.  He expressed confidence in the ability of the team to maintain its high level of performance in the upcoming matches and affirmed the continuous support of fans throughout the World Cup period.
