Gas leak explosion injures seven in Iranian city of Qom
Seven hurt in residential blast in Iranian city of Qom attributed to gas leak.

DUBAI, July 14: An explosion at a residential building in the Iranian city of Qom injured seven people, Iranian state media reported on Monday. Authorities have attributed the blast to a gas leak and ruled out any involvement of terrorism.

Qom Governor Akbar Behnamjoo emphasized that the incident was not linked to any terrorist activity. The explosion occurred in the Pardisan neighborhood, damaging four residential units, according to the city’s fire department.

“The initial investigations indicate that a gas leak caused the explosion, and follow-up inquiries are ongoing,” the fire department director told the semi-official Fars news agency.

This incident comes shortly after a series of gas explosions in Iran following a recent 12-day air conflict last month involving attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities by Israel and the United States. Despite the tensions, Iranian officials have not blamed Israel for the recent domestic incidents.
