KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: A gang that is specialized in stealing copper cables from electricity transformers was arrested. According to a press statement issued by the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media of Ministry of Interior, when Farwaniya Investigation Department received several complaints about theft of copper cables from transformers, a team of investigators was formed. The team closely monitored all big transformers and coordinated with patrol teams for carrying out the investigation. Eventually, one of the gang members was arrested after the team took all relevant legal procedures. When questioned, he admitted to committing the crimes and guided the securitymen to his accomplices. The rest of the gang members were arrested and they all admitted to committing the thefts at a number of transformers located in different areas. They led securitymen to the place where they kept the stolen cables. All suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.Drugs with youth: A Kuwaiti citizen in his 20s was arrested in Saad Al-Abdullah area in possession of hashish pieces and a small polythene sachet containing a narcotic substance. Reportedly, Jahra securitymen were patrolling Saad Al-Abdullah area when they noticed an unmoving car with an occupant parked in the middle of the road. Securitymen approached the vehicle and discovered that a young man was in deep slumber inside the vehicle. They woke him up and conducted a precautionary search, as the man appeared to be in a highlyintoxicated state, and discovered some pieces of hashish and another narcotic substance wrapped in a small polythene paper. They checked his details and discovered he is a Kuwaiti citizen in his 20s. He was arrested and referred with the drugs to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, Jahra securitymen arrested another Kuwaiti citizen who was also found asleep inside his car in Al-Naseem area and in possession of synthetic cannabinoids (spice) and hashish. He was referred with the confiscated drugs to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.Filipina mugged: Police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing the Iphone 6 from a Filipina, reports Al-Anba daily.
