KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: A gang composed of three individuals—a Kuwaiti citizen, an Egyptian, and a Lebanese—who were involved in residency trafficking, forgery, and manipulation through freight transport companies have been arrested.

In a statement on its "X" platform account, the ministry emphasized that, under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, efforts have been intensified to monitor illegal activities and enhance search and investigation operations against lawbreakers, combating crime with utmost firmness. The General Department of Residence Affairs Investigations, specifically the Search and Investigation Department, successfully apprehended the three-person gang.

Investigations revealed that the accused were engaged in transferring the residencies of workers already in the country to their company and registering their vehicles. This was done to obtain the maximum number of vehicle operating licenses, which were then submitted to the relevant authorities to increase the company's "estimated need," allowing them to recruit more workers and issue Kuwaiti driving licenses in exchange for money to individuals who did not meet the General Traffic Department's criteria. The suspects have been referred to the appropriate authorities for the necessary legal actions to be taken against them.
