Gang of Arab expats held for helping illegals cross border – Bedoun, Pakistani nabbed with drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: A Bedoun youth and a Pakistani man were arrested in Jahra area in possession of hashish. According to security sources, Jahra securitymen were patrolling the area near a commercial complex when they suspected a vehicle with two occupants parked behind the commercial complex.

They approached the vehicle and checked the details of the two individuals to discover one is a Bedoun while the other is a Pakistani. Noticing their nervousness, securitymen checked them to find hashish pieces on them. When questioned, both suspects confessed to being involved in drug peddling. They were arrested and referred with the hashish to the Drugs Control General Department for investigations. Meanwhile, an Egyptian expatriate was arrested in Salmiya area in possession of “Tremadol” pills.

Gang held: A gang of Arab nationals that helped people banned from entering Kuwait to cross the borders illegally by hiding them inside a truck was arrested by Residency Affairs Men. The trucker, with the help of two other Arabs, made it possible for individuals who are banned from entering the country to cross the border outlets inside heavy duty truck. Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry stated the Residency Affairs Sector affiliated to Citizenship and Passport Affairs Department was notified about the activities of the suspects, and warrant was issued to arrest them after verifying authenticity of the report. The first two suspects led the officers to their compatriot (the trucker) and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.

Caught drunk: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in Riqqa area for consuming liquor and possessing methamphetamine, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen noticed the two individuals driving a sports car in a reckless manner, and ordered them to pull over. When securitymen asked them for their civil IDs, they detected the smell of alcohol from the citizens, who appeared to be in a disoriented state. Securitymen checked the vehicle to find a bottle of imported liquor and a sachet of methamphetamine drug locally known as “Shabu”. One of the citizens was discovered to be wanted by law for a financial case. Both citizens were referred to the Drugs Control General Department for investigations and necessary legal action.

Trust betrayed: A Syrian expatriate who was accused of betrayal of trust was arrested in Sabah Al- Salem area and referred to Firdous Investigations, reports Al Rai daily. The suspect was arrested during an inspection tour after securitymen discovered that he is wanted by law for two criminal and civil cases, one of which was related to betrayal of trust and was filed at Firdous Police Station after he embezzled money from a citizen. He also owes a company KD 8,000.

Car stolen: Police are looking for a person who drove away with a car belonging to an Indian expatriate, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The victim filed a complaint with officers at Farwaniya police station, saying he parked the car in an open area adjacent to his flat and was surprised he couldn’t find it. Meanwhile, a citizen lodged a complaint against a person who broke the side glass of his vehicle in Qurain area. In a complaint with security operatives, the citizen said the person who broke the glass stole nothing from the vehicle. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
