KUWAIT CITY, Jul 28: Kuwait authorities, in coordination with drug enforcement agencies from Oman, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, have foiled an attempt to smuggle raw liquid methamphetamine intended for manufacturing and distribution inside the country.
The General Directorate of Drug Enforcement at the Ministry of Interior launched the operation following intelligence sharing and intensive surveillance efforts among GCC security agencies. A suspect with a previous record of drug trafficking was arrested, and around five litres of raw liquid methamphetamine were seized.
Authorities said the seized quantity could have been used to produce approximately 15 kilograms of methamphetamine ready for distribution.
The suspect and the confiscated narcotics have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal action. The Ministry of Interior said the operation highlights the effectiveness of GCC security cooperation in combating drug trafficking networks and preventing the spread of narcotics.
