LOS ANGELES, Oct 5, (Agencies): Actor Josh Duhamel shared his reflections on his past and his hopeful outlook for the future. The 50-year-old star opened up about the end of his marriage to Fergie and how they have managed their public separation while co-parenting their son.

Speaking about his former wife, Josh described her as a “great girl” and expressed mutual respect, acknowledging their differences. He emphasized that despite those disparities, they had created an “awesome kid” together, and they have maintained a positive co-parenting relationship without any animosity.

Josh and Fergie, whose birth name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, tied the knot in 2009 and welcomed their first child, Axl Jack, in 2013. However, they decided to separate in 2017, finalizing their divorce two years later. In 2022, Josh married Audra Mari, a fellow North Dakota native, and the couple is currently anticipating the arrival of their child.

Reflecting on his past relationship with Fergie, the All My Children alum expressed that he has found peace with that chapter of his life. He suggested that his desire to distance himself from the Hollywood lifestyle may have contributed to their breakup. He clarified that there was nothing inherently wrong with their marriage; they had a great time together. However, as they grew older, their interests diverged, and he increasingly longed to return to North Dakota, which was not aligned with Fergie’s aspirations. Josh emphasized that he harbored no ill feelings and regarded Fergie as a kind person.

Josh also shared his discomfort with the Hollywood scene, particularly red carpet events. He admitted that it took him a while to feel like he belonged and fit in. He stressed that the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and the Los Angeles lifestyle could drain one’s soul if not managed carefully. He explained the importance of finding a healthy outlet and purpose outside of the industry, even though he had achieved a lot of success in Hollywood.

Despite their separation, Josh and Fergie remain dedicated to providing a nurturing and loving environment for their 10-year-old son as co-parents. Their commitment to their son’s well-being serves as a testament to their enduring bond and shared responsibility as parents.
