Jennifer Aniston

LOS ANGELES, Nov 7, (Agencies): Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston is reportedly facing immense distress following the untimely death of her "Friends" co-star, Matthew Perry. According to an industry source, Perry's passing at the age of 54 has deeply affected Aniston, who remains devastated by the loss.

Jennifer Aniston, along with the four surviving members of the "Friends" cast, attended Perry's funeral last Friday to pay their respects. However, among the remaining "Friends," it is believed that Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are the ones struggling the most, with Aniston experiencing acute emotional turmoil.

This tragic loss marks a second major blow for Jennifer Aniston in less than a year. She is still grappling with the grief of her father's death, which occurred in November 2022. At the time, she fondly remembered her father, John Aniston, who was known for his role in "Days of Our Lives," as "one of the most beautiful humans" she ever knew.

While Aniston is endeavoring to regain her emotional composure, the source emphasizes that Perry's death has been a profoundly devastating event in her life.

At Perry's funeral, held at the Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles, Jennifer Aniston and the other cast members, including Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc, paid their respects. Forest Lawn Cemetery is just minutes away from the Warner Bros. studios where they filmed the beloved NBC sitcom "Friends" for a decade.

Aniston, who had previously broken down in tears during a 2004 interview at the mere prospect of losing Matthew Perry, was seen walking behind her fellow cast members, accompanied by a security guard. However, while the cast offered a touching tribute to their "brother," they did not join family and close friends for the burial ceremony, which featured the playing of Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush's song "Don't Give Up."

Perry's tragic drowning in the jacuzzi of his Pacific Palisades home at the end of last month highlighted his struggles with addiction. He had previously commended Jennifer Aniston for being the one who reached out to support him during his challenging times.

In an October 2022 interview with Diane Sawyer, Perry expressed his gratitude toward Aniston for her unwavering support. He also disclosed that it was Aniston who initially confronted him about his addiction during their time on the "Friends" set.

While Perry had a crush on Aniston before they began working on "Friends" in 1994, he acknowledged that his feelings eventually subsided due to her apparent lack of interest. Despite this, they formed an unbreakable bond, with Perry emphasizing that Aniston was the one who reached out the most during his years-long battle with drug and alcohol addiction.
