PARIS, May 6: French shipping group CMA CGM said Wednesday that one of its vessels, the San Antonio, was attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, leaving several crew members injured and the ship damaged.
The company said the attack took place on Tuesday. The injured crew members have been evacuated and are receiving medical treatment.
“CMA CGM is closely monitoring the situation and remains fully mobilized alongside the crew,” the company said in a statement.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important shipping routes, particularly for global oil and gas supplies.
