KUWAIT CITY, May 13: French Ambassador to Kuwait Olivier Gauvin affirmed that Kuwait presents promising opportunities for French companies, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, sustainability, innovation and strategic development, in light of the implementation of Kuwait Vision 2035 and its focus on economic diversification and structural modernization. Gauvin made the statement at a conference hosted by the French Business Council Kuwait (FBCK) recently, as part of its dialogue series with the theme, “Post-Crisis Opportunities and Strategic Sovereignty: Building Independence for a more Resilient Future”.
Former Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development Dr. Khaled Mahdi and Chief Operating Officer of Veolia Arabia Sabri Al-Qadi also attended the event. Gauvin stated that the FBCK plays a vital role as a platform for communication and relationship building, and as a bridge connecting the French and Kuwaiti economic systems, in addition to strengthening trade relations and promoting partnerships and projects that emerge from dialogue and communication between the two sides. He said the number of French companies expressing interest in building long-term partnerships with Kuwaiti economic entities based on mutual benefit has been increasing.
He added that this edition of the conference is held amid the development of French-Kuwaiti relations, proven by intensified diplomatic and economic exchange, increasing interest of French companies in the Kuwaiti market, and strong partnership and cooperation between French and Kuwaiti institutions and organizations. He expressed his appreciation for the FBCK team, specifically their role in intensifying the presence of the council and expanding its network and relationships.
He confirmed that the French Embassy fully supports all initiatives aimed at improving economic dialogue and long-term cooperation between France and Kuwait. He also emphasized that the FBCK Talks series continues to solidify its position as a growing platform for economic dialogue and trade relations between France and Kuwait. He clarified that the event is not just a traditional conference, as it is rather an interactive space for exchanging views and experience, bringing together business leaders, institutions, experts and decision-makers to discuss current issues. He asserted that such an event helps build future business ideas and relationships, while strengthening economic ties between France and Kuwait.
