KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: The French Embassy in Kuwait announced that French consulates around the world will stop authenticating public documents issued by French authorities, such as civil status certificates, academic certificates, court rulings, and notarized contracts, starting in September. In a press statement on Tuesday, the embassy explained that the task of authenticating these documents will be assigned to notaries in France, stressing that this procedure does not include documents issued in New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna, and the French Southern and Antarctic Territories, as French consulates remain responsible for authenticating them. The embassy stated that for documents issued by foreign authorities and intended for use in France, French consulates remain the competent authority for authentication.
