KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance, which obligated a real estate company to pay KD 40,000 to a citizen after it was proven that the company defrauded him through a false project of “purchasing real estate in the United States”. The court also obligated the company to pay legal fees worth KD 2,000.

According to the case file, Lawyer Ali Jawhar, representing the citizen, said the Public Prosecution assigned the legal representative of the company, which deceived his client through real estate investment in the US that turned out to be dubious. He said the case was filed in the civil court, the legal process of which ended with the company being forced to pay to his client compensation worth the money the defendant had fraudulently taken from him, in addition to moral compensation for the damage caused by the actions of the defendant against his client.
