Four officers under intensive probe in ‘leaks’ issue

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 2: As the Public Prosecution continues its investigations into the so-called reports, rumors and leaks about eavesdropping on citizens , a reliable source told the Al-Qabas daily the Prosecution has completed hearing the testimonies of witnesses in the case and that the Prosecution will soon disclose the identity of the suspects.

The source also said four officers from the State Security apparatus are being interrogated by the Ministry of Interior almost 24/7 and the names are expected to be disclosed soon irrespective of the modus operandi they used to ‘tap’ the citizens.

The source pointed out the officers who have been the subject of interrogations are suspected of cooperating with those who operate the fake accounts in the social media with the sole purpose of putting a dent in the security apparatus — an act which cannot go unpunished.

The source explained if there was any wrongdoing within the State Security apparatus, this can be undone through legal means and laws not by provoking people and weakening people’s confidence and prestige of this sensitive apparatus, whose task is to expose the corrupt and.

The State Security is and will always remain an impenetrable barrier for those who try breaking the laws and destabilizing the security of the country. The source pointed out the Public Prosecution will not stop at just pointing a finger of accusation at those who are responsible for leaking the reports or planting eavesdropping gadgets into the State Security investigation rooms, but will do all the needful to ensure it does not happen again.
