KUWAIT CITY, Nov 15: Acting on the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, security authorities have dismantled an illegal medical operation running out of a private residence in the Farwaniya area. The raid was conducted as part of coordinated efforts between the Security Directorates Affairs Sector and the Criminal Security Affairs Sector to combat unlicensed medical activities and safeguard public health.
According to the Ministry of Interior, officers arrested four Indian nationals inside the makeshift clinic. One of the suspects was found illegally practicing medicine without any authorization, while the remaining three were visiting the premises to receive treatment.
Investigations led to the discovery of a wider network involved in the unlawful sale and delivery of government-issued medications. Three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for delivering government medicines to the unlicensed practitioner in exchange for money, bypassing all legal channels.
Further inquiries revealed that a Bangladeshi employee working at a government health center had been abusing his position to steal medications from the facility. He then supplied these stolen medicines to the suspects operating the illegal clinic. In total, eight individuals — of Indian and Bangladeshi nationalities — have been arrested in connection with the case.
Authorities confirmed that all necessary legal actions have been taken against the accused. Coordination has also been initiated with the Drug Control Department at the Ministry of Health to properly secure and catalogue the confiscated medications.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its determination to continue confronting all forms of illegal activity and to protect the health and safety of the public.
