ADAN, Nov 4: Four airstrikes targeted weapons depots and military vehicles belonging to Yemen's Houthi group at the Central Security Camp in the central province of Al-Bayda, Al-Jumhuriya TV reported, citing field sources.
The broadcaster did not identify who carried out the strikes. There was also no immediate information on casualties or the extent of damage caused by the attacks.
The strikes reportedly hit facilities and military assets used by the Houthis at the Central Security Camp in Al-Bayda, a strategically important province that borders eight other Yemeni provinces.
The Houthis control most of Al-Bayda, which has been a key battleground because of its central location and strategic importance.
The reported airstrikes come amid renewed fighting between Yemen's internationally recognized government forces and the Houthi group.
Since Oct. 5, Yemeni government forces have been conducting an operation dubbed “Dawn of Yemen,” aimed at regaining control of state institutions and retaking the capital, Sanaa, from the Houthis.
Fighting between the two sides resumed in July, killing and wounding thousands of people and displacing more than 250,000, according to UN reports.
The renewed conflict ended a period of relative calm that had prevailed since April 2022 and further deepened Yemen's already severe humanitarian crisis.
Yemen has been mired in conflict since the Houthis seized Sanaa and several other provinces in September 2014. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 in support of Yemen's internationally recognized government.
