KUWAIT CITY, July 8: In its latest session, the State Security Court of Appeals issued several rulings in cases involving state security, incitement, spreading false news, and expressing support for the Iranian attacks, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The court upheld a three-year prison sentence against a former pilot convicted of inciting sedition and expressing support for the Iranian attacks.

The former pilot had previously been convicted in other state security cases. The court also upheld the acquittal of a former parliamentary candidate on charges of inciting sedition and the acquittal of a journalist accused of spreading false news. In addition, it upheld the acquittal of a daily newspaper in a case filed by the Iranian embassy over the publication of reports it considered offensive to Iran.

The court upheld the rulings of non-sentencing for several Twitter users, including a doctor. It also overturned a ruling of no sentencing for another Twitter user and acquitted him. The court overturned a three-year prison sentence against a blogger in a case involving the spread of false news, ruling instead for non-sentencing and upholding his acquittal on charges of insulting Gulf states.
