Forgery Exposed: Family Used Gulf IDs While Claiming Kuwaiti Citizenship

KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The General Department of Nationality Affairs Investigations has received credible information regarding a Gulf national who allegedly obtained Kuwaiti citizenship through fraudulent means. Investigations revealed that he was entering and exiting Kuwait using his Gulf identity card rather than Kuwaiti documents, and that his children were also traveling with Gulf-issued documents instead of their Kuwaiti credentials.

According to the sources, the main purpose behind using the Gulf ID for travel was to maintain the illusion of continuous residence in Kuwait. This deception enabled the family to continue benefiting from labor support provided by Kuwaiti authorities, as if they had not left the country.

The Nationality Investigation Department successfully obtained and examined the documents of the father and two of his sons. A detailed comparison was conducted between their Gulf and Kuwaiti identity records. Photographs and personal information were analyzed by a forensic expert, who concluded that although the photographs were of the same individuals, the names listed on the Gulf documents were entirely different from those on the Kuwaiti records.

Following the verification process, border control officers documented and photographed the relevant evidence. However, once the suspects realized they were under investigation, the father and his sons fled the country using their Gulf documents to evade arrest.

The case, which implicates a total of 13 individuals, has been referred to the Supreme Committee for Citizenship Affairs. Authorities are now considering revoking the fraudulent Kuwaiti citizenships and referring all involved parties to the Public Prosecution for legal action.
