KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: A routine document check at the Nuwaiseeb border crossing turned into a dramatic security bust after an alert policeman uncovered an attempted escape using forged Gulf passports.
According to a security source, officers were inspecting travelers when one vigilant officer noticed something unusual: seven members of the same family ( men and women) were carrying passports without the mandatory exit slip attached. When questioned, the group claimed that the passport officer had failed to issue the required paper.
The explanation only deepened suspicions.
Authorities detained the travelers for further scrutiny, where it was discovered that their passports bore no official exit stamp. They were immediately referred to the competent authorities for fingerprinting to verify their identities.
The results exposed the deception.
Fingerprint records revealed that the seven passengers were not Gulf nationals, contrary to the passports they were carrying. Only the vehicle’s driver was confirmed to hold Gulf citizenship.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities, where a case of forging official documents and attempting an illegal exit was registered against them. Investigations remain ongoing as officials work to uncover the full circumstances behind the attempted border breach.
