KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: The Public Authority for Sports, in coordination with the tripartite committee formed to deal with the coronavirus crisis and follow up sports conditions as well as the Health Ministry, took a decision regarding home quarantine for foreign coaches and professionals from foreign local clubs who will arrive in the country soon, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.

Sources confirmed the committee approved the proposal to take swabs from these trainers and professionals upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport.  Sources said a decision will be taken once the results are released — either to allow them to continue their work if the result is negative or subject them to home quarantine and treatment if the result is positive.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Interior showed great flexibility with the Public Authority of Sports in terms of facilitating procedures for obtaining entry visas for the coaches and professionals from the banned countries.

Some sports club officials confirmed the speedy issuance of visas for foreign professionals and coaches after the authority and officials of Kuwaiti Olympic Committee exerted tremendous efforts to push for exclusion of this category — both players and coaches — from government measures; especially in light of the approaching resumption of the local league which will start on Aug 11, along with the postponed match between Kuwait and Al-Nasr in the Premier League.
