‘Forbes’ announces its list of 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen in Mideast

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: Forbes Magazine recently announced its list of ‘100 Most Powerful Businesswomen in the Middle East, with Executive Vice President of the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) Group Shaikha Al-Bahr as the most powerful businesswoman in Kuwait and second in the Middle East for the year 2024; owing to her achievements in the banking sector and remarkable community services, reports Al- Qabas daily.

The magazine based its selection of the most powerful businesswomen in the Middle East on several criteria — influence in the region and markets in which women operate; achievements over the past year; sustainability and social responsibility initiatives that they led; size of the business in terms of revenues, assets, market value and assets under their management; the number of employees; professional experience and tenure Al-Bahar contributes to formulating the remarkable development that NBK has achieved over the years in terms of sustainability, in addition to her contribution to formulating policies and laying down plans that support the implementation of the bank’s strategic directions aimed at consolidating sustainable financing and supporting the global trend of transitioning to a low-carbon economy and reducing carbon emissions.
