KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21, (Agencies): Informed sources disclosed to a local press that the municipality temporarily halted the electronic reservation of camping sites, just a week after opening it for camping license applications. The decision was prompted by a need to alter the coordinates of certain previously designated sites, citing a "military request" related to ongoing events and tensions in the region following the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Security sources informed that the municipality received a request from liaison officers to facilitate communication between the Kuwaiti side and coalition forces at the Arifjan military base. The request sought a modification of the coordinates for spring camps near the base, expanding the initially specified separation distance from 2.5 kilometers to 3.5 kilometers.
The sources explained that the request is closely tied to the prevailing security situation in the region, particularly considering the precautionary measures adopted by American forces across their bases in the Middle East in recent weeks.
The municipality promptly responded to the request by suspending the issuance of camp licenses through the website until the necessary coordinate modifications were made. However, given the urgency, authorities responsible for information systems were requested to swiftly reopen the website to facilitate camping license applications.
Emphasizing the municipality's adherence to standard procedures, the sources clarified that, before approving any campsite, coordination is routine with relevant government agencies, including the Ministry of Defense. The municipality expressed its willingness to make any necessary amendments that prioritize the security and safety of the country.
