Dense fog blankets Kuwait City’s skyline

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9: The Meteorological Department has forecast stable weather conditions across the country, with fog expected to form from Monday evening through Tuesday, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters and, in some areas, to near zero.

Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the country is being affected by an extension of a high-pressure system accompanied by a humid air mass and calm winds. These conditions, he said, are expected to result in generally stable weather and the formation of fog starting tonight and continuing into Tuesday.

Al-Ali noted that the fog may significantly reduce horizontal visibility in several areas, particularly along coastal regions, with visibility possibly becoming nonexistent in some locations.

He added that minimum temperatures are expected to range between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures are forecast to reach between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, earlier today, Kuwait City was shrouded in dense fog on Monday, blanketing the skyline and lending the capital a calm, ethereal appearance. The fog enveloped the city’s skyscrapers, obscuring details and softening the outlines of buildings.
