Florida boy calls police for a hug.

LOS ANGELES, Nov 4, (Agencies): A heartwarming encounter involving a police officer responding to a 911 call in a Florida home is making waves on social media. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office posted bodycam footage on their Facebook page, showcasing Deputy Scott Pracht's touching interaction during a dispatch to a residence.

In the video, Deputy Pracht arrives at the home, knocking on the door, and is met by a woman who had been walking her dog in the backyard. He inquires, "Hello, is this your home?" The woman confirms that it is and reassures him that everything is fine when he asks about the 911 call received from her address.

With a friendly demeanor, the deputy suggests they speak with her son. The mother opens the front door and calls her child to join them outside. During their conversation, it was revealed that the child had made a 911 call using a disconnected cell phone, which can still make emergency calls despite its inability to contact other numbers. The mother mentions that her son doesn't even understand what 911 is.

Deputy Pracht kindly offers to explain the purpose of 911 to the young boy, who happily skips over to join the conversation. His mother asks him if he has called the police, to which he responds with an endearing twist, "Well, I wanted to give him a hug." Deputy Pracht chuckles at the unexpected request.

As the mother checks her child's phone, the boy spontaneously runs out of the house and wraps his arms around the officer, who warmly reciprocates the embrace. The child, delighted at the possibility of a new friendship, playfully states, "I know what's your phone number — 9-1-1."

Deputy Pracht takes a moment to educate the child about the significance of 911, emphasizing that it is for emergencies or when someone needs help. He provides examples, like if his mom required assistance or if someone was behaving inappropriately. The deputy's caring explanation resonates with the child, who understands the importance of using 911 wisely.

Upon his mother's request, Deputy Pracht extends his arm to offer the child a friendly fist bump, concluding this heartwarming interaction between law enforcement and a young, caring soul.
