HANOI, July 27, (Xinhua): Torrential rains and flooding in northern Vietnam's Son La province left two people dead and two others missing from Saturday through Sunday, local daily newspaper Nhan Dan (People) reported. The downpours were triggered by the impact of Vietnam's third tropical storm this year, and caused flash floods and landslides across the province, according to the report.

Flooding damaged homes, infrastructure and crops, forced the urgent relocation of at least 25 households, and caused power outages affecting more than 3,000 homes. Local authorities have been evacuating residents, moving property to safe areas and clearing flooded zones to ensure public safety, the state-run media added.
