KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: Detectives in Mubarak Al-Kabeer have launched an urgent investigation following the theft of five transformers and several copper cables, raising concerns over security at critical utility sites. Forensic teams have rushed to the scene to collect evidence and examine whether surveillance cameras captured the suspects’ movements.
The theft was reported by an employee of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy’s Security and Safety Department, who confirmed that two electrical cables and five transformers had been stolen. The Public Prosecutor’s office has classified the incident as a break-in, intensifying the probe into possible organized criminal involvement.
In a separate case, a female transport company owner reported the theft of two German trucks parked in a dirt lot. According to the drivers, the stolen items included the trucks’ batteries. Authorities have registered the case and referred it to the Criminal Investigation Department, which is now working to track down the perpetrators.
The spate of thefts has sparked public concern, with law enforcement vowing swift action to prevent further incidents and safeguard vital infrastructure and private property.
