KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4:  Five suspects accused of defaming the Kuwaiti Crown Prince Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah were released on payment of a KD 500 bail each, says gdnonline.com.

The Public Prosecution charged them with posting a video recording targeting the Crown Prince and misusing the phone. The suspects denied the charges, claiming that they had no illintentioned purpose behind the video recording they had posted online.

They claimed that they had watched the opening ceremony of the 23rd Gulf Cup of Nations in a Diwaniya (Majlis) in the Diwaniya in Salwa. “The TV receiver which was installed at the diwaniya enables the user to zoom in and out the film scenes”, they said. The suspects, who are aged 30 to 40 years, work at the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Education and the General Directorate for Customs.
