Kuwait Court
KUWAIT CITY, Mar 17: The Criminal Court has sentenced five employees to two years in prison with hard labor and fined each 3,000 dinars for embezzlement and forgery, while ordering a suspension of the sentence for three years from the date the ruling becomes final. The court also required each defendant to submit a 3,000-dinar guarantee as a pledge of good conduct and a commitment not to reoffend.
Case details revealed that the defendants fraudulently obtained approximately 2,500 dinars in salary by manipulating attendance fingerprint records to prove their presence at work falsely. During the investigation, the accused returned the embezzled funds to their employer, a factor the court considered when determining the penalty, while stressing the seriousness of tampering with public funds and abusing workplace systems.
